At Kersia, we believe our people are the cornerstone of our commitment to food safety and hygiene. That’s why we’re excited to welcome Nigel Blitz to the team as our new Technical Service Manager.
Nigel joins us with over 20 years of experience in the food, hygiene, and quality sector. His most recent role was at Campden BRI, where he spent six years as a Safety & Quality Specialist, leading critical initiatives around hygiene auditing, BRCGS compliance, and technical support across diverse manufacturing environments.
But Nigel’s journey in food hygiene began long before that.
“My first job out of school was in a vegetable processing plant, and I’ve worked in food ever since,” he shares. “In 1999, while working at a London-based manufacturer, I was asked to take on the role of hygiene manager. I’ve been in the sector ever since — and I love it.”
With qualifications that include HACCP Level 4 and the RSPH Level 2 Award in Identifying & Controlling Allergy Risks, Nigel combines technical know-how with hands-on experience. Throughout his career, he’s been instrumental in ensuring that organizations meet the highest hygiene and safety standards, from routine audits to launching new hygiene solutions.
One accomplishment he’s especially proud of?
“Managing field trials that led to a dairy hygiene product launch across the UK. Seeing the real-world impact of that work was incredibly rewarding.”
So why Kersia?
“It’s a forward-thinking company where people are truly valued, not just part of a headcount,” Nigel says. “Kersia promotes growth and development, and I’m excited to be part of that.”
Outside of work, Nigel brings the same passion and loyalty to the things he loves, especially football.
“I’m part of the group affectionately called the Tottenham Hotspur Women ‘Ultras’,” he laughs. “We’ve followed the team since before their WSL promotion seven seasons ago. I was there the night they secured it in Birmingham and haven’t looked back.”
And if you ask him what superpower would help him most in his role?
“I already have one — I’m an X-Man!” he jokes. “I have a rare genetic mutation confirmed by cardiological research. Not sure how it helps, but I’ll take it!”
Welcome aboard, Nigel! We’re pleased to have your expertise, energy, and unique flair on the team
Ensuring safe and sustainable connections across the food chain with expert hygiene solutions.
