Meet The Team – Deborah McClimonds

For this month’s Meet the Team we caught up with Deborah McClimonds who joined Kersia UK three months ago and has previously worked in various business finance roles before joining our team.  

 

What is your job title?  

I am a Finance Manager. 

  

What was your career path to your current role?  

I completed a Modern Apprentice in Business Administration which was really interesting, then I completed an AAT Diploma which is designed to give practical skills needed to build a career in finance.  After that I gained a degree in Business Management.  I have also found that learning ‘on the job’ very useful and have benefitted from it greatly.  

 

What Responsibilities Does Your Role Include? 

In my role I ensure the company’s Management Information is submitted timely and accurately and I also authorise payments and deal with our customers if they have any ad hoc queries 

as well as authorising payments. I support the finance team and maintain internal systems.  

  
What’s your favourite part of your job? 

As I’m sure every person who works in finance will say - Getting everything to balance!!! It’s the most important part of my role. I also love working with and collaborating with my colleagues every day.  

 
What does a typical day look like for you? 

In my role every day is different. There is so much variety, including answering costing queries on products.  The month end is a very busy time, and we find that the middle of the month is the time to catch a breath. As a team we never stand still, we are constantly looking at ways in which we can improve and enhance our systems so that the whole experience is even better for us and our customers.  

 

What would your dream job be?  

Lying on a beach somewhere sampling cocktails. Literally living the dream.
