Meet Ben Donkin, Technical Sales Consultant – Foodservice Team

Ben recently joined Kersia as a Technical Sales Consultant based in Scotland. With a background in chemistry and hands-on lab research, he brings a unique perspective to food hygiene; one that’s grounded in science, precision, and a deep understanding of risk management.

From Laboratory to Hygiene Solutions

Before joining Kersia, Ben worked in an organic chemistry laboratory where he synthesised and analysed novel phenanthroline compounds, adhering to strict health and safety protocols. This attention to detail and scientific discipline now translates directly into his work helping foodservice businesses maintain the highest hygiene standards.

“I’ve always been drawn to work that has a real-world impact,” says Ben. “Food hygiene sits at the heart of public health and trust. It’s practical, hands-on, and feels meaningful — especially when you see how it helps businesses protect both their customers and their brand reputation.”

Fast Learner, Strong Start

Despite being new to the industry, Ben has made an impressive start.

“It’s been a steep learning curve, but I’ve really enjoyed it,” he says. “From getting to grips with our product range to building relationships with clients, I’m happy with how much I’ve picked up already.”
