Kersia is pleased to support the upcoming Biofilm Alliance Conference, taking place on Tuesday 21 October 2025 at Conference Aston, Birmingham, UK—an event that aligns closely with our expertise in biofilm management and food safety.
The Biofilm Alliance, funded by Innovate UK, is a UK-based network dedicated to tackling the global impact of biofilms on health, the environment, and industry. With an estimated annual economic cost of US$5 trillion, biofilms represent a significant challenge across sectors. However, limited collaboration between researchers, industry, and regulators—alongside the absence of standardised methodologies—continues to hinder effective biofilm control.
The Alliance, a partnership between the National Biofilms Innovation Centre, Manchester Metropolitan University, Swansea University, and Industrial Microbiological Services Limited, aims to advance regulatory science, improve policy-shaping decision-making, and support the development of evidence-based tools and training.
This year’s conference will bring together leading voices from academia, industry, and regulatory bodies to explore how science, innovation, and regulation can evolve together to address biofilm-related challenges. International experts will share insights into the current regulatory landscape, the hurdles in managing biofilm-related products, and the transformative potential of next-generation anti-biofilm technologies.
We’re proud to share that David Childs, Technical Service & Training Manager at Kersia, will be contributing to the event with a flash presentation on Kersia’s 5 Point Listeria Management Plan. His session will highlight practical strategies for managing biofilm-related contamination in food production environments, an area where Kersia continues to lead with science-driven solutions.
In addition, David will be presenting a poster focused on Listeria management training, showcasing how Kersia’s team of experts support food manufacturing businesses with tailored training programmes designed to strengthen their Listeria control strategies. This reflects Kersia’s commitment to combining technical expertise with practical, on-the-ground support for our customers.
This conference offers a unique opportunity to engage with cutting-edge research, regulatory developments, and industry innovations.
